Happy Spring! Spring cleaning with essential oils is a great way to start anew!

Spring cleaning is a great excuse to get rid of the clutter in our homes, recycle, resell or toss out things we haven’t used in months or longer! Grab your cleaning bucket and cleaning cloths; it’s time to shake off the dust.

Beyond working to clear the clutter in your physical environment, it’s also an opportunity to clear out old energy that’s become stagnant through the winter—in your space and in your spirit. If you view it as a chance to clean up your mental and emotional space, the physical act of cleaning takes on deeper resonance. Essential oils help in both ways and can also be used in every aspect of our life – for physical, emotional, spiritual wellness, beauty care and cleaning. Just what you need to take on new beginnings!

Here are a couple of my favorite recipes to try out in your home.

Recipes – 3 Innovative Ways to Use Thieves Household Cleaner

Glass and Mirror Cleaner
1 cap full Thieves Household Cleaner
5 drops Lemon essential oil
1 teaspoon white vinegar *optional
3 cups water
Add all ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well to combine. To use, spray windows and glass surfaces liberally and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.

Deep Cleaning Scrub
1 cap full Thieves Household Cleaner
2–3 tablespoons baking soda
Combine Thieves Household Cleaner and enough baking soda to form a thick paste. Apply mixture with a clean cloth, sponge, or scrubbing brush and scour the surface thoroughly. Let sit for 15 minutes, and rinse everything clean.

Oooooo, Girl! Bling Jewelry Cleaner
1/2 cap full Thieves Household Cleaner
1 drop Lemon essential oil
½ oz neutral spirits
Combine above ingredients in a small glass or stainless steel dish and soak for 30 minutes. Brush gently with a soft brush, rinse well under fresh water. Know your stones and proper care, softer stones (ex. Opals) require special cleaning care.
